Supporting Skylarks through Nursery smock embroidery

For over 10 years Kuldip, a former King’s House grandparent, has embroidered the beautiful Nursery smocks with images chosen by the children. Over the years this has seen lots of diggers, animals, flowers, trains and much more!

The money raised from this has gone to Skylarks, a local charity who support children and young people with additional needs – in total raising over £6,000 for them! Kuldip and her daughter were recently able to visit Skylarks in Twickenham and meet their wonderful members and volunteers, seeing their resources and centre.

Skylarks said: “It was a delight to host Kuldip and her daughter Sonia to the charity. For over ten years Kuldip has hand embroidered hundreds of nursery smocks for King’s House Nursery. As a past school partner, I have seen the beautiful bespoke motifs that parents have requested to adorn their child’s smocks. Kuldip skilfully can spend 6 hours sometimes on each smock. In doing so she has generously donated every single penny that the parents have spent for this incredible service to Skylarks. That is well over £6,000 to date! Thank you so much for your dedication and support all of these years and for your kind words.”

Hundreds of Nursery children have worn the beautiful embroidery, and we can’t thank Kuldip enough for the time she puts in to creating them.
