Wraparound Care

We are delighted to be partnering with Après-School from September 2024 to provide after school care at King’s House. Après-School are an Ofsted-registered specialist wraparound care provider and have many years’ experience creating a safe and nurturing environment for children beyond the school day. Children in the Nursery (Squirrels/Rabbits Class) will also be able to stay on in after school care (ASC), and the provision has been extended until 6pm.

Après-School was founded by Luke Currie, a former Assistant Headteacher and Safeguarding Lead at a London prep school. The day-to-day running of ASC will be overseen by Miss Lindsay, the dedicated ASC Manager. She brings extensive experience in childcare and a passion for creating enriching after-school experiences. You can contact her directly at lindsay@apres-school.co.uk. For general inquiries or to discuss program specifics, Mr Currie is available at luke@apres-school.co.uk.

Children in Squirrels/Rabbits will be walked from Nursery to the Junior Department for ASC at 3pm, with age-appropriate resources for them. Activities will be planned for children of all ages, including arts & crafts, sport and outdoor play, construction, and board games.

The staff ratio will be 1:8 for Nursery children and 1:10 for children of school age. Children will all be provided with healthy snacks, often including fresh fruit, sandwiches, and raisins.

After School Care Sessions 2024-25

Sessions for after-school care with Après-School are bookable in advance via their website, www.apres-school.co.uk. As an Ofsted-registered provider, they will be able to accept Childcare Vouchers and participate in the Tax-Free Childcare scheme. Payment can be made in monthly instalments or in bulk. A 10% sibling discount is offered when both siblings are booked on the same session.

A one-time registration fee of £10 applies, and this covers admin costs associated with set up. Do make sure to register closer to the time, as this allows you to avoid paying non-member fees for sessions.

Bookings can be made up until the last minute for children to join a session. Please note that 24 hours’ notice must be given to cancel sessions, otherwise you will still be charged. To cancel a booking, simply log in to your account, go to the “Bookings” menu, and select the specific booking you wish to cancel. Then, click on “Amend Dates” and fill out the form, ensuring you select the correct dates, session, and child.

Summary of Wraparound Care Provision

Early Birds and SD Homework Club continue to be provided by the school and are bookable via SOCS on an ad hoc basis. Junior and Senior Department pupils can also attend a wide range of before and after school clubs, which can be viewed here, along with internally provided lunch & break time clubs.

Holiday Clubs

King’s House also runs holiday clubs, usually in the October, Christmas, Easter and Summer breaks in the Nursery and Junior Departments. Information on these is communicated to parents each term, with provision dependent on staffing and numbers.
