Forest School Welcome Morning with Rabbit and Squirrel Classes 🌼🍃🎨
Earlier this week, we had a wonderful time at our Forest School Welcome Morning with the Rabbit and Squirrel Classes at King’s House Sports Ground. It was a beautiful Thursday morning, and we were delighted to welcome families to join us for a session filled with outdoor learning, creativity, and movement.
It was also great to be joined by families of those with children starting with us in Reception next year – what a great opportunity to meet other families and key staff who will be a big part of their journey at King’s House, as well as see our amazing Sports Facilities.
The morning gave parents a chance to see firsthand the wide range of activities that children enjoy at Forest School and during PE. From exploring nature trails and searching for wildlife, to engaging in imaginative play and team games, the children had the freedom to play, discover, and challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
Forest School is about much more than just playing outdoors — it helps children develop independence, resilience, and problem-solving skills, while also supporting their physical health and wellbeing. Spending time in nature encourages curiosity and creativity, builds confidence, and fosters a sense of responsibility for the environment. These experiences provide a balance to classroom learning and help children to grow as confident, well-rounded individuals.
Parents also had the chance to see the fantastic facilities at King’s House Sports Ground, which play an important role in school life as children move up through the year groups. Families enjoyed a coffee and pastry in the Clubhouse, kindly provided by Accent Catering ☕️🥐
We hope everyone left feeling inspired by the joy of outdoor learning and with a deeper understanding of how Forest School enriches your child’s experience at King’s House 👏
