Welcome to King's House School

An independent co-ed prep school and nursery for children aged 2-13 in Richmond.

About Us

King’s House School was founded in 1946 and has since grown to a prep school of over 400 boys and girls across our Nursery, Junior and Senior Department, with children ranging from the ages of 2 through to 13 years.

We are proud of the breadth of our curriculum: the broad and balanced all-round education at King’s House provides children with the skills and mental resilience to succeed in their next steps in life.

We are a mixed ability school at Nursery and Reception, catering to pupils with a range of abilities. Each pupil is able to discover their unique talents and passions, be it on the sports field, performing on stage, in the classroom or much more.

Our pupils go on to a wide range of day, boarding, single sex and co-ed schools at 11 and 13, and we work closely with families to make sure each child goes on to the right senior school for them.

King’s House Nursery has been an outstanding choice for our child’s early education. The well-structured curriculum balances play-based learning with developmental milestones perfectly, while the caring and supportive staff create a nurturing environment where every child feels valued. We’ve been particularly impressed by the low staff-to-student ratio, which ensures our child receives individual attention and support throughout the day.
