A Day In The Nursery

We have two year groups at King’s House Nursery, across three classes: Hedgehogs for rising 3s, and Squirrels or Rabbits for rising 4s. Children can join Hedgehogs from 2 years old starting in the year they turn 3, and Squirrels/Rabbits is the pre-Reception year group. Both groups have varied and exciting days, with a balance of free-flow, adult led and child-initiated activities, as well as phonics, learning and play.

Children in the Nursery benefit from the school’s facilities and specialist teachers, including Music, Computing, PE, Drama, and French, and you can take a look at an example timetable below.

Starting from September 2026, we are introducing new hours in our Nursery including options for extended wraparound and holiday care run by our lovely Nursery staff.

However, we are currently a term-time pre-school, with Hedgehogs attending 5 mornings, and the option to stay for lunch until 1pm. Squirrels/Rabbits Classes attend 5 mornings, with the option to stay for afternoons until 2.45pm, following by after school care until 5:30pm.
