A Day In The Nursery
We have two year groups at King’s House Nursery, across three classes: Hedgehogs for rising 3s, and Squirrels or Rabbits for rising 4s. Children can join Hedgehogs from 2 years old starting in the year they turn 3, and Squirrels/Rabbits is the pre-Reception year group. Both groups have varied and exciting days, with a balance of free-flow, adult led and child-initiated activities, as well as phonics, learning and play.
As our nursery is the starting point of the school, the nursery follows a schedule which best supports the transitioning of the children to prepare them for school life. Our youngest learners in Hedgehog class attend 5 days a week from 8:40am until 2:45pm, with the option to finish at 12pm before lunch. Squirrels/Rabbits classes attend 5 days a week from 8:40-2:45pm.
We offer many options for extended wraparound and holiday care for all nursery children run on-site by our lovely Nursery staff. All children can join early birds from 8am, and stay after school for an extended day until 5:30pm. Holiday care options are also available during the half-term breaks, as well as for 5 additional weeks over the year including over Christmas, Easter and the summer break.
Extended wraparound and holiday care options can be booked in as set termly options (below), but is also available ad-hoc at your convenience, based on availability.
