Admissions Process
King’s House is a private, term-time nursery in Richmond with two year groups. Children can join Caterpillar Class in the term they turn 3 (rising 3s). They then move up to Butterfly Class in the September following their third birthday (rising 4s). All children in the Nursery are guaranteed a place in Reception.
More places for new joiners become available in Butterflies. Registration can be made at any time.
The typical admissions process is:

Families can book their place at an upcoming Open Morning by contacting admissions or completing the form here. You are also warmly invited to attend a private tour with the Head of Nursery, Mrs Jane O’Brien, which you can book by contacting the Registrar. These open events provide an opportunity for you to meet pupils, staff and see the school in action.
- Register Your Child
To proceed with an application, please complete the registration form and pay the £100 registration fee to register your child for King’s House School or Nursery.
- Accept an Offer
Nursery places are offered approximately two terms before entry. When offered a place, families are asked to complete the Acceptance Contract and pay a deposit of £500. From September 2023 the Nursery deposit will be £750. This is returned when the child leaves, less any extras. All new joiners then attend several settling in sessions, and will be contacted with further induction information.
All children in the Nursery are automatically offered a place in the Reception Class at King’s House School. From September 2024, girls will be able to join Reception for the first time as we move to full co-education.
For more information about joining the Nursery please contact the Registrar, Mrs Sally Bass on 020 8940 1878 or admissions@kingshouseschool.org.
