King’s House Nursery opened in January 2009.  We are located in a spacious Victorian building called The Old School House, which is just around the corner from King’s House School.  We are very much part of the King’s House School community and benefit from using their facilities and specialist teachers for French, Music, Drama, IT and PE.

Our aim is to introduce children to the exciting world of learning in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.  We work hard to ensure that all our children become confident little learners, with an understanding of kindness and courtesy, enjoying the happiness which comes from strong friendships and respect for each other.

Our Caterpillar group is for children aged 3.  In this group our main focus is to help children become independent, to feel confident in a group environment and to be kind and thoughtful to others.  There is a maximum of 24 children in the Caterpillar classroom.

Our Butterfly group is for children aged 4.  In this group we continue to build on the core skills introduced in Caterpillars, introduce new specialist teaching and give them the skills they will need to move on to Reception.

There is a maximum of 35 children in the Butterfly group, with a staff ratio of 1:6 and all focused and specialist teaching delivered in small groups.
