We want to all children to feel safe and secure and settle quickly into Nursery.
All children entering the Nursery have two induction sessions before they start so that we can get to know them and their parents. The term before your child starts you will be invited to an information evening. This is an informal event, the chance for you to meet the teachers and the other parents over a glass of wine and listen to a short presentation.
At the beginning of your child’s first term we hold a play and stay session for children and parents. The following day the children start with a shorter two-hour session that allows us to see how they settle.
Every child has a key carer to ensure you have a point of contact who can help settle your child in the early days and ensure a smooth transition. Your key carer will want to know about the little things impacting on your child which might affect the bigger conversation, like whether your child had a bad night or the family pet is ill.
We are always available for a quick word in the morning or at the end of the day. If you need a longer chat, we can always arrange a phone call or meeting. Getting to know our families well and sharing information ensures we can work together to make your child’s time with us a very positive experience.
