About Us

Welcome to King’s House Nursery, an educational nursery and pre-school nestled in the Alberts in Richmond.

We opened in January 2009, and are located in a spacious Victorian building just around the corner from King’s House School.

Our aim is to introduce children to the exciting world of learning in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. We work hard to ensure that all our children become confident little learners, with an understanding of kindness and courtesy, enjoying the happiness which comes from strong friendships and respect for each other.

Following changes to the Nursery structure, from September 2024 children will be able to join us in Hedgehog Class (rising 3s, previously Caterpillars) or in one of our pre-school classes for rising 4s (Squirrels and Rabbits, previously Butterflies). Our team of experienced staff help children to become independent, feel confident in a group environment and be kind and thoughtful to others, and children also benefit from the school’s specialist teachers. We are so excited that from September 2024, our girls will be able to stay on at King’s House School for the first time as we move to full co-education.

Our children move on from King’s House Nursery prepared for their next steps in life as curious, independent little learners.

  • To ensure we are environment where we respect each other’s feelings, ideas, culture and experiences.

Welcome from the Head

As Head of King’s House School, I would like to add my welcome to King’s House Nursery.

Our Nursery is an integral part of King’s House School, sharing the values of a broad and balanced all-round education that run through the school. The breadth and balance of education on offer at all stages of King’s House is one of our greatest strengths. The team of dedicated Early Years specialist staff know and understand the needs of each child, working alongside the school’s specialist teachers in Music, Drama, Computing, French and PE.

As a school community, each year we support a charity chosen by the pupils and take part in fundraising activities, and were recently awarded our Eco-Schools Green Flag again. You can read more about our ‘Excellent’ ISI report, IQM Inclusive School Award, and much more that talk about the brilliant work in the Nursery.

As they come to the end of their time in Nursery the children are prepared for the move to Reception, and we’re so excited that girls will be able to stay on for the first time this year.

I invite you to explore the Nursery section of our website and learn more about the exceptional experience and opportunities that await your child.
