Annual Michael Stuckey Singing Competition
On Wednesday 16 October we held the annual Michael Stuckey Singing Competition and Concert, held in memory of the Director of Music at King’s House during the 1980s.
Still in his early twenties, Michael had worked with within both the local and international musical community, as Children’s Chorus Master for Evita, conducting Jesus Christ Superstar and Choirmaster at Richmond Parish Church. He inspired a love of music for many in the King’s House community and beyond, taking pupils on music tours to France and North America.
Each of the three finalists perform ‘Santa Evita’ as well as a song of their choice. Well done to Louis, Charles and George on fantastic performances as finalists – and congratulations to George on winning the competition! We also heard from the Year 4 BBK’s Choir, Chamber Choir, King’s House Singers and soloists.
Many thanks to judges, Roxanna, Alexandra and Stephen for giving up their time, it is always a fantastic evening.
