Charity Activity at King’s House
It’s been a busy few weeks of charity activities at King’s House, with involvement from all across the School.
SPEAR Charity Visit
This year, one of our chosen charities is SPEAR, a local charity whose aim is to support the ending of homelessness in London, including a specific focus on our local borough of Richmond. Our Senior Department had a special visit from SPEAR before half term, when a representative came to talk to the children about the important work that they do in our community.
Earlier on in the school year, King’s House hosted a Christmas Carol Service involving performances from lots of senior children, staff, and parents, where we raised money to donate to SPEAR. This recent visit was a wonderful opportunity for our Charity Monitors to present our donation and to show the children the real impact we can have in supporting our wider community.
Thank you to SPEAR for taking the time to visit us, we look forward to working with you for the rest of the year! 🌟
Annual Bake Sale 🧁
We also recently hosted our Annual Bake Sale across all areas of the School to raise money for our other chosen charity for the year, Richmond Carers. Families kindly donated baked goods which we were then able to sell to children and families across the school.
We were so grateful for the many kind baked donations from our incredible King’s House Community and the support received during our Bake Sale, with so many people purchasing a delicious treat!
Across the Nursery, Juniors and Seniors, we raised over £1,000 for Richmond Carers! 🎉
King’s House Charity Activities
Each year, our King’s House Students choose two charities to support in our charitable activities. Having these charities being selected by the students is a great way to get the children involved and for them to choose an organisation which aligns with their interests and values.
Our Year 8 Charity Leaders have the important responsibility of leading the school-based activities, along with support from key staff.
We find this student-led approach is a great way to involve the children and for them to see the meaningful impact they can have in truly making a difference 🙌
