Year 7 enjoyed an action packed trip to North Norfolk last week. After a long journey across London and East Anglia, the boys received a warm welcome from the Kingswood Staff and launched straight into their activities. The initial challenges of archery, aeroball and laser tag were much enjoyed and these set the tone for the days ahead.

A visit to Overstrand beach on Day 2 involved a suitable balance of geographical enquiry and sand castle making. The morning also helped to build large appetites for the centre’s tasty food! The boys then enjoyed an afternoon of further fun. In the evening, some set off to explore the local countryside, while others watched England produce the goods in the Euros.

Wednesday began with high ropes and the opportunity for the boys to test their metal on the Jacobs ladder, ultimate equilibrium and the leap of faith!

Thursday’s activities included abseiling, climbing and bush craft. Some impressive camps were constructed, although those brave enough to test their shelters’ waterproofing were quick to reach for their towels!

The final day saw the hotly anticipated room inspections. The teachers were all relieved to find open windows, fresh air and neatly made beds … at least in some cases! The boys’ particular highlights of the week included ‘the English breakfasts every day and then coco pops!’, ‘the nightline, because we were encouraged to trust our team mates’ and ‘getting to play with friends on the beach!’

Well done to all of the boys for a fantastic week!
