Year 1 at King’s House School recently had a wonderful day at the West London Gurdwara.

They enjoyed a very warm welcome by Mandip, and then learnt some very interesting facts about the Sikh religion, including that there are no idols, statues, or religious pictures in a Gurdwara. They learnt all about the 5Ks and how important they are to the Sikh people, and received a demonstration in turban tying.

Year 1 watched the sweeping of the Holy book, called the Guru Granth Sahib and they were fascinated watching a 10 year old boy performing an amazing warrior dance. The morning culminated in a delicious curry lunch of rice and Dahl. Thank you to the West London Gurdwara for having Year 1!
