Year 1 visit the West London Gurdwara
Year 1 boys recently had a wonderful day at the West London Gurdwara.
They enjoyed a very warm welcome by Bupindra. They learnt some very interesting facts about the Sikh religion, including that there are no idols, statues, or religious pictures in a Gurdwara. They found out about the 5Ks and how important they are to the Sikh people, and received a demonstration in turban tying. They watched the sweeping of the Holy book, called the Guru Granth Sahib, and were fascinated watching and listening two Sikh gentlemen sing and play instruments to them. The morning culminated in a delicious curry lunch of rice and Dahl.
