It is through play a child learns to socialise, extend language, experiment, ask questions and challenge themselves. Our staff love to enter the child’s world and engage in imaginative play and are also experts at facilitating play and then dipping in when needed to extend a child’s learning.
Scientific and mathematical concepts are not confined to tabletop activities. These can be explored in the sand trays, water trays and block area.
One of the exciting ways in which children learn through play in the Butterfly group is through our Woodworking classes. Woodworking stimulates creativity, mathematical thinking, scientific investigation and critical thinking skills. At the same time it gives our children increased self-esteem and confidence and improves their concentration levels as they see the objects they are making take shape.
Learning is taking place in every corner of the Nursery classrooms and playgrounds.
