King’s House School is delighted to have raised over £4,000 in 2021-2022 for Skylarks, who were our chosen charity of the year. Skylarks are a local charity who support children with disabilities and additional needs, as well as their families.
We loved welcoming Sona from Skylarks this morning, who spoke to children in the Nursery, Juniors and Seniors in assembly about the work that they do and how vital it is. Activities they provide for children include karate, yoga and drama, as well as counselling and support for families and siblings.
Over the last year our Year 8 Charity Ambassadors have led fundraising activities including:
- Cake sales
- Second hand book sales
- Christmas Jumper Day
- Donations from smock embroidery in the Nursery
- Year 7 Enterprise Fairs
- Senior Department Art Exhibition commission
- Lunar New Year stalls
For many years Kuldip (a King’s House grandmother) has embroidered the beautiful designs on the Nursery smocks in aid of Skylarks. It was wonderful to be able to welcome her to the Nursery last week!
