King’s House School is delighted to be supporting the Independent School Council’s (ISC) Partnerships Week, where they are celebrating the important collaborative work taking place between independent and state schools.

With the easing of Covid-19 restrictions we are looking forward to more partnerships with schools over the coming months. We are committed to collaborating and sharing resources and expertise with our community, working to expand opportunities for children in the local area. A key part of this is community use of King’s House School Sports Ground, our 35-acre multi-use sports site in Chiswick. Partnerships using the grounds help to keep young people active and fit in a large outdoor space.

Hammersmith Academy, a state school based 10 minutes from the Sports Grounds, is a key partner and they can access high quality discounted sports facilities all year round, such as hosting Sports Days and transition days for free. Students at Chiswick School, a state secondary located opposite the grounds, can access our sports facilities for free throughout the school year for lessons, after school clubs, fixtures and Sports Days. A particular success in the past was the introduction of girl’s football at the school, and students train and play on the 3G pitch at KHSSG on Wednesday evenings.

King’s House School has also previously hosted a series of Maths Masterclasses in associated with the Royal Institute, for Year 6 pupils in local primary schools. The Royal Institute has a nationwide Masterclass network, and these workshops offer students an opportunity to investigate mathematical ideas outside the curriculum and explore the wider aspects of the subject.

We also work with local community groups and organisations, such as the Riana Development Network (RDN), who we work with to deliver holiday activities, including hosting their Summer Programme at King’s House Sports Grounds. RDN programmes are aimed at engaging young people and their communities in the London Borough of Hounslow through acquisition of community skills. Holly Lodge, a small charity located in Richmond Park who offer specialise in offering activities for people with special educational needs, also held a fundraiser at King’s House School in October 2021.

We look forward to growing our partnerships with state schools and community groups in 2022 and beyond.
