It has been a very busy couple of weeks in the JD and there is much to report. Year 3 put on a fantastic display of cricketing skills versus KCS at home on Monday. It was a blisteringly hot day, but team spirits were high and it was wonderful to have some parents there to support. Miss Skelton and some of the boys in Year 2 have been involved in the ‘Fiver Challenge’, a scheme designed to promote entrepreneurial skills amongst young children. The teams have been carrying their market research by surveying their client base and pitching their ideas to me. We have enjoyed more musical assemblies this week, broadcast to parents via Zoom, so well done to all the boys who performed. They seem to be getting very used to having the camera on them and they rose to the occasion with aplomb. Indeed, Year 2 also gave an incredible live performance of their production ‘Pirates Vs Mermaids’ on Thursday morning, with parents giving encouragement remotely as the boys sang and acted their socks off. Reception had a wonderful visit to Bockett’s Farm. The day involved lots of exciting experiences such as a tractor ride, feeding different animals and exploring the adventure playground. Well done to all the boys for their fantastic behaviour. Year 3 went to Ham Common for a day of Forest School with Treehouse learning and as you can see from the photos, they had a super time in the outdoors tree climbing, orienteering and building shelters.
