Some of these are necessary for administration and the safety of pupils and the general running of the School, such as displays and the internal School newsletter. Media uses, including photos of pupils at work or playing games, may include the School website and other School social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Flickr) or as part of the School prospectus or external marketing. This may also include the school’s Twitter account for residential trips and Sport, or the Sports Ground social media. The School follows the following rules for any external use of images in media: When necessary, the school only refers to pupils by first names, rather than full names. If showcasing digital video work to an external audience, the school takes care to ensure that pupils’ full names are not given. Only images of pupils in suitable dress are used. Additional consent will always be gained from parents if a child’s full name is required, for example in the local paper/press. In addition, the School takes part in a number of off-site sporting fixtures outside the normal school day. The School will send you information about each trip, activity or sporting fixture in advance unless it takes place as part of timetabled lesson or assembly. Specific written consent will be required where pupils are taken on a trip or visit that: involves an overnight stay; involves an overseas visit; involves adventure activities eg watersports where this is required by a third party provider. I understand that trips may be charged, and costs will be advised by teachers in advance, and I agree to pay such charges as invoiced. I undertake to ensure that if my child requires medication during a trip, this will be handed to the leader, clearly marked with his name and the exact dose, before departure. I understand that if it is necessary to administer Calpol/Anthisan to my child on a trip, the staff will administer such medication in accordance with the School’s First Aid & Medical Conditions Management Policy, subject to parental consent obtained on my child’s current medical card. I hereby give consent for my child taking part in any local visits, other activities that take place off school premises and off-site sporting fixtures in the academic year 2023-24.TRIPS OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR The Nursery regularly organises local walks (eg. to the post box, to the Junior and Senior Departments, around The Alberts.) as part of the Nursery curriculum. The pupils will be properly supervised at all times by the teachers responsible. I undertake to ensure that if my child requires medication during an outing, this will be handed to the leader, clearly marked with his name and the exact dose, before departure. I understand that if it is necessary to administer Calpol/Anthisan to my child on a trip, the staff will administer such medication in accordance with the school’s First Aid & Medical Conditions Management Policy, subject to parental consent obtained on my child’s current medical card. These steps include using an educationally-filtered service, restricted-access email, employing appropriate teaching practice and teaching e-safety to pupils. I understand that the School can check my child’s computer files, and the Internet sites they visit, and that if they have any concerns about their e-safety or e-behaviour that they will contact me.
