One year ago the boys in the Cross Country club competed against the clock in a 1km time-trial around Richmond Park. Since then they have shown a clear desire to improve as many of them have eagerly asked when they can run the course again either to better their own time, or attempt to break a year-group or school record!
Over the past couple of weeks, the boys have returned to the course and the results have been spectacular. We had six boys complete the course in under 4 minutes, with Oliver leading the way with an impressive 3:34 clocking, claiming the Year 8 record and breaking his own school record set last year. Tomi also made huge improvements to run 3:50 and move into 3rd place on the all-time list. He was closely followed by Henry, who was rewarded for his efforts with a year-group record for Year 5 in a remarkable time of 4:03!
It was fantastic to see that almost every boy who ran with us last year improved his time, some by over a minute! Best of all the boys really demonstrated their team spirit by cheering each other on so passionately and showing great support for every runner involved from start to finish.
