King’s House School in Richmond was delighted to welcome author AF Steadman last week to talk to Year 4 and 5 about her debut novel, Skandar and the Unicorn Thief.
During her visit, Annabel talked to the boys about her journey to become an author, her inspiration for the book and how she goes about building worlds and characters. There were great tips for our creative writing and we all felt hugely inspired to pick up her book and enter Skandar’s magical world of ferocious unicorns, sky battles and tree house living.
Skandar and the Unicorn Thief is the first in a series of 5 books (we’ll have to wait until February for the next to be released) and Annabel is already working with Sony on the big screen version. Skandar is an ideal read for fans of Percy Jackson, Harry Potter and Amari and the Night Brothers and is already a huge hit in the library.
